Before I begin sharing my tips and tricks, while helping you all create your ideal wardrobe, I want you to get to know a little bit more about me and what lead me to creating HerLifeStyled. Ever since I can remember I have been interested fashion, as a young girl I was constantly reading fashion magazines and watching fashion related TV shows. I grew up in Minnesota, definitely a much smaller fashion industry than in my current city of Los Angeles, but I was always surrounding myself with fashion as much as I possibly could. My first real taste of the fashion industry began when I took up modeling around the age of 13. I took classes and did a few jobs here and there in Minnesota, which I really enjoyed, but when I was able to travel to Los Angeles for a modeling competition was when I truly knew that I wanted to be involved in the fashion industry for the rest of my life. I had fallen in love with fashion. From there I began working in retail, and finally after high school went on to study Fashion Retail and Management at the Art Institutes International Minnesota. I studied there for about a year when I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. It was after I made the decision to leave the program that I really began to research programs at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. After visiting the school and feeling as if I had found my place, I made the big move out to California. I had the most amazing experience at FIDM. My hands on classes and my internship in wholesale fashion truly prepared me for the wild world of fashion in LA. Since graduating FIDM with a degree in Visual Communications, I have had the opportunity to work in retail management, wholesale fashion, marketing and branding, event production and my true passion, wardrobe styling. I have had incredible experiences within the styling world working under Daniel Musto, Ade Samuel, Chelsea Von Mach, Rachel Zoe Studio and more. I love this industry so much that I felt it was time to spread my wings and begin my own journey making a name for myself. This strong urge to be my own boss has lead me to work on starting my own business as a personal shopper and stylist and here, to HerLifeStyled. This blog has been a dream of mine for a long time and I am so excited that it’s finally becoming a reality.
